More about your flight
Your Maui helicopter flight will begin as you board, meet your pilot and start listening to atmospheric music, especially arranged for your flight.
You’ll take off from the Kahului Heliport and head up towards the Haleakala Crater, rising above Central Maui’s sugar cane fields and Upcountry towns of Makawao, Pukalani and Kula. Then, you’ll continue to ascend to over 10,000 feet and fly over Mt Haleakala, the world’s largest dormant volcano. Take in the views of the crater, which resembles the surface of the moon and enjoy the pure oxide cinder cones towering over 1,100 feet.
The flight will then take you down towards the East Maui rainforest, where you’ll find pristine waterfalls cascading on the side of the mountains, not to mention the famous Road To Hana, its sea cliffs and gorgeous black, white and red sand beaches.
Other viewing highlights include: Kaupo and Ko’olau Gaps, the “Seven Pools”, Lindberg’s Grave, Old Hana Town, taro fields of Ke’anae and the Hookipa windsurfing beach.
Your helicopter features four mounted DVD video recorders, three of them are strategically located outside and one inside the cabin. Your flight will be recorded and will showcase both what you will see as well as showing the passengers and pilot. You’ll also get to hear the music played during the flight, the pilot’s narration as well as the communication between your flight and airport tower. This DVD is not included in the price of the ticket.
