Choosing Your Wailea Luau

Maui offers our Hawaii visitors some of the most prestigious luaus anywhere across the islands. Our visitors staying in South Maui (Kihei, Wailea, or Makena), Central Maui (Maalaea, Kahului or Wailuku) or on the North Shore (Paia, Haiku, Kula), can enjoy a hassle free, exciting evening at one of our Maui luaus in Wailea, featuring top notch performances, delicious dinner buffets, impeccable service, incredible views and easy accessibility.

This combination makes it hard to choose venturing on a 1+ hour drive to Lahaina side on the 1-lane, Honoapiilani Hwy, our only road to West Maui.

If you want to ensure you avoid bumper-to-bumper traffic we always recommend our Maui visitors not staying in the West side, to enjoy their Maui luau in Wailea. We are certain you will not regret it one bit!

Wailea Luau Options

The two luaus offered on Maui’s south side are both located on the shores of Wailea, rated one of the most beautiful beaches anywhere in the world. From Wailea our visitors and local residents alike enjoy views to Molokini Crater, Kahoolawe Island and the West Maui Mountains, not to mention the breathtaking sunsets.

Make sure when you come to your Wailea luau that you’ll bring a camera as there will be several opportunities to get your own Wailea sunset pictures, perfect for Instagram and Facebook!

Both the Grand Wailea Luau and the Te Au Moana Luau offer very similar features:

Hawaiian & Polynesian Show

Hawaiian Dancing

This type of luau show features the traditional hula dancing and the dances and traditions of island nations in the South Pacific, such as New Zealand, Tahiti, Cook Islands and Samoa. It makes for a very lively and exciting show, which culminates with the grand finale Fire-Knife dancing performance!

All-You-Can-Eat Hawaiian Buffet Dinner

All you can eat luau buffet

Before the show begins you will delight your taste buds with a delicious traditional Hawaiian dinner featuring some of the most popular local dishes such as the Kalua Pig (made in the old Hawaiian tradition, in the Imu (pit)), local fish, chicken, poi, all sorts of salads, stir fried vegetables, dessert and more!

In addition to sodas, juice, coffee, adults age 21 and up can enjoy complimentary beer, wine and Hawaiian mixed beverages, such as Maui’s famous Mai Tai’s, Blue Hawaiians, Chi-Chi’s and more! All of them can also be made without alcohol for our designated drivers!

Fun Activities

Prior to your dinner you will have the opportunity to walk around the luau grounds and visit with local vendors, participate in ancient Hawaiian games or just take pictures by the beach.

Two Seating Tiers

Both of our Wailea luaus offer Premium and General seating. Premium seat holders pay only a few dollars more and get to enjoy seating at the first two rows of tables and priority at the buffet.

Grand Wailea Premium Seating | Te Au Moana Premium Seating

General seat holders can sit at all other rows. Both tiers sit their guests in a “first come, first served” basis. Premium seats sell out well in advance.
